Check-in and Relax

Orientation Walking Tour - The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, the public transportation systems, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc. Additionally, an in-depth safety briefing will be provided for what to do in case of an emergency.

Welcome Dinner & Greek Traditional Music - The group will be taken for an authentic Greek dinner with a wide variety of menu options to cater all diets.

Acropolis Hill  Visit & Lecture, “Athens: The Cradle of Democracy” - The group will visit the Acropolis Hill and the New Acropolis Museum. Visit the birthplace of drama, the sanctuary of Dionysus along the south slopes of the Acropolis. How were the drama competitions in ancient Athens? As we are walking to the the entrance gate Propylaea, we will see the temple of Nike. Propylaea will deliver us to the top where we will walk around the Parthenon and Erechtheion.

Visit Archelon Sea Turtle Rescue Centre in Glyfada - In 1994, ARCHELON set up one of the first Sea Turtle Rescue Centers in the Mediterranean, located in Glyfada, near Athens. Its main functions are to receive, treat, and rehabilitate injured and sick sea turtles and release them back to the wild and to raise public awareness.

Lake Vouliagmeni - Vouliagmeni Lake, in the heart of the Athenian Riviera, is the hidden treasure of Attica’s nature. Situated on an idyllic landscape, this rare geological phenomenon is waiting to be discovered. The lake’s brackish waters which are continuously replenished both by the sea and the underground thermal springs offer a natural and unique thermal spa experience.

Service Learning Project - With ARCHELON you will actively take part in the conservation efforts of the sea turtles. This includes various tasks from participating in morning surveys and protecting sea turtle nests, as well as raising public awareness about sea turtles and ARCHELON’s role. The morning shift is in the early hours of the day. In order to minimize the exposure to difficult conditions (sun and heat), we start as early as possible (first sunlight) and we stay on the beach until the work is complete.
