Program Itinerary

day 1 / DEPARTURE
Depart Home for Guayaquil, ECU
day 2 / GUAYAQUIL/ SANTA CRUZ
Arrive in Guayaquil, ECU

Transfer to Santa Cruz, Galapagos (approx 2 hrs by flight)

On-ground Briefing & Orientation Walking Tour - The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, the public transportation systems, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc. Additionally, an in-depth safety briefing will be provided for what to do in case of an emergency. 

Lunch Break

Charles Darwin Research Center Station- Charles Darwin Research Station is a biological research station in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island, Galápagos, Ecuador. The station is operated by the Charles Darwin Foundation which was founded in 1959 under the auspices of UNESCO and the World Conservation Union

Welcome Dinner - The group will be taken for an authentic dinner with a wide variety of menu options to cater all diets. 

day 3 / SANTA CRUZ/ISABELA
Breakfast & Day Briefing 

Highlands Tortoise Reserve- A 45-minute bus ride will take us to the Santa Cruz highlands, located to the northwest of Ayora Port, where we will find a natural reserve with giant land tortoises in their natural habitat. These enormous and slow- moving reptiles are responsible for the island’s name and therefore, approaching them in their humid and forested abode is always an inspiring adventure. They can weigh between 250 and 300 kg and can live up to 200 years. They have few predators; their principal threat has always been men.

Lava Tunnel -These impressive underground tunnels southwest of the village of Santa Rosa are more than 1 km in length and were formed when the outside skin of a molten-lava flow solidified.

Hike to Sierra Negra Volcano- Second biggest caldera in the world, Sierra Negra is a large shield volcano at the southeastern end of Isabela Island in the Galapagos that rises to an altitude of 1124m. It coalesces with the volcanoes Cerro Azul to the west and Alcedo to the north

Los Tuneles-The lava tunnels are home to many species such as white tip reef sharks, manta rays, seahorses, penguins, sea turtles, sea lions, giant mantas, colorful fish, and blue-footed boobies.
