Lunch Break
Czechoslovakia from the 1948’s Election until the 1989’s “Velvet Revolution” – Meeting with a local researcher from the University of Prague: the group will learn about the Czech Communist period and its different phases: from the Soviet control (1948-1953) to the peaceful "Velvet Revolution" between November and December 1989.
Walking Tour – Upon the meeting, a walking tour devoted to the symbolic places of the Communist Prague will be organised - National Museum, Melantrich Publishing House, Václav Havel library

Pankrac Prison Visit – A former Austro-Hungarian prison, after the Communist coup of 1948 Pankrác became the favorite place for the incarceration of iconic political opponents, such as Milada Horáková, hanged there on June 27th, 1950, until thirty years later, when Václav Havel was interned there in 1979.
Lunch Break
Jewish Quarter – The group will visit Josefov, former Jewish quarter, with a local researcher who took part to Memogis Prague, a historical geographic system (GIS) allowing to study the history of Holocaust through map and offering a new perspective on the disputed character of the public space during the occupation. Part of the visit will be also focused on the memory of Holocaust during Communist time.

Kampa Island – Here we will meet a local association engaged in the struggles against building speculation and mass tourism in Prague via community projects for the citizens i.e. children theatres, urban gardens, social café with the aim of preserving the social fabric of Prague's city center

Budapest Walking Tour – Buda's hill, Castle, Matthias church, Fisherman's bastion (viewpoint)
Breakfast & Day Briefing
Hungary 1956 and its legacy – A meeting with a local researcher from the University of Budapest will be organised. The focus will be the revolts of October, 1956 with the following repression by the Soviet Army and its legacy for the history of Hungarian society until the 1989. At the end of meeting transfer by an old Trabant car to "Mementopark", an outdoor space were all Communist statues were transferred in recent years.

Charity Organization – A meeting with a Methodist pastor at the head of a Charity organization dealing with homeless from Budapest. During the meeting the group will also focus on how Communism dealt with poverty as well as the new poor categories emerged from the transition of the 90s
Lunch Break
Green City – Young locals who deliver organic veggies from a farm 50km away thanks to cargo bikes. They promote the degrowth movement, sustainable living and cycling. Before dinner will be organized a walking tour devoted to "Romkocsma", the alternative bars of Budapest
Breakfast & Day Briefing
Excursion with Public Transportation to Szentendre – a nice Serbian historical village, which use to hold several artistic “colonies” and schools in the 20th century. The group will visit art galleries and the "artistic mill", a former mill turn into an art center and museum.
Lunch Break
Farewell Dinner – The group will be taken for a delicious Hungarian dinner followed by a "czardas" concert, the traditional Hungarian music, included
