Orientation Walking Tour - The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, the public transportation systems, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc. Additionally, an in-depth safety briefing will be provided for what to do incase of an emergency.

Welcome Dinner- The group will be taken for an  authentic dinner with a wide variety of menu options to cater all diets. 

Petronas Towers Visit - Students marvel at the iconic twin towers and discuss Malaysia’s urban development. Discussion topics include global architecture, nation branding, and urban economic growth.

Butterfly & Bird Sanctuary - Set in a lush tropical environment, students engage with native species and reflect on the role of conservation in urban settings. Comparisons are drawn to biodiversity in their home countries.

Visit to Sancheng Gong Temple, Chinatown - A visit to this Taoist temple opens up discussion on Malaysia’s religious diversity, syncretism, and the significance of temples in diasporic communities.

Batu Caves - Explore the sacred Hindu site dedicated to Lord Murugan, framed by dramatic limestone cliffs and a towering golden statue. Students discuss the interplay between geology, culture, and faith, while observing the importance of pilgrimage in Hinduism.

Limestone Geography & Accessibility Walk - Engage in a site walk to understand how Malaysia’s limestone landscape contributes to the ease of excavation and temple construction, and how natural features are adapted for cultural uses.

Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) - A deep dive into Malaysia’s biodiversity. Students explore the canopy walkway for a bird’s-eye view of the rainforest, learn from local researchers, and reflect on the importance of conservation in Southeast Asia’s rapidly urbanizing regions.

Muzium Negeri Sembilan - Uncover the history and social systems of Malaysia’s indigenous groups, including the Minangkabau culture with its matrilineal roots. This visit highlights local governance, community structures, and cultural preservation.

Lake Gardens (Perdana Botanical Gardens) - Wander through one of Kuala Lumpur’s most
beautiful green spaces. Students reflect on how urban parks contribute to biodiversity, mental health, and social equity in megacities.

Student Exchange Session - Organized by local university faculty, this meetup connects
students with Malaysian peers to discuss educational experiences, cultural expectations, and youth perspectives on global challenges.

Transfer by Coach to George Town, Penang (approx. 5 hrs) - Students journey north to one of Southeast Asia’s most storied ports, home to a blend of Chinese, Malay, Indian, and European influences.

George Town UNESCO Heritage - Explore a vibrant tapestry of restored colonial buildings,
temples, and street art. Students analyze urban preservation, tourism, and creative place-making.

Khoo Kongsi Clan House - Visit this elaborately decorated ancestral home to understand how Chinese immigrant clans organized support systems, governed themselves, and preserved their heritage through architecture and ritual.

Tropical Spice Garden - Students walk through living collections of herbs, spices, and medicinal plants. Discussions focus on traditional agricultural knowledge, ethical sourcing, and Malaysia’s spice trade history.

Island Cruise & Kek Lok Si Temple - A coastal cruise allows students to observe Penang’s
geography and development from the water. Later, they visit Kek Lok Si, one of Southeast Asia’s largest Buddhist temples, to explore spiritual pluralism andsacred space design.

Transfer by Coach from Penang to Malacca (approx. 6.5 hrs) - A long but scenic road journey to one of Malaysia’s oldest trading ports. Students observe changing landscapes and urban
development.

Portuguese Port Walk - Explore remnants of Malacca’s colonial past, including its strategic role in 15th-century maritime trade. Discuss cultural blending and the impact of European empires in Southeast Asia.

Melaka River Cruise - Enjoy a peaceful cruise through the old town, passing colorful murals, heritage buildings, and restored bridges. A chance to see how rivers once powered trade, and now tourism.

Stadthuys & Christ Church - Walk through Dutch-era civic landmarks and churches built in
the 1600s. Learn how religion, trade, and governance were intertwined in colonial town
planning.

Cheng Hoon Teng Chinese Temple -Explore Malaysia’s oldest functioning Chinese temple, which blends Taoist, Confucian, and Buddhist traditions. A symbol of religious coexistence and local identity.

Jonker Street Night Market - Sample Malaysian street food, shop local crafts, and enjoy live music. A vibrant example of community, commerce, and culture in one shared space.

Free Time in Malacca - Students may choose to revisit favorite heritage spots, relax at the hotel, or enjoy personal reflection time before departure.

Transfer by Coach to Kuala Lumpur (approx. 2hrs) Evening at leisure - Rest, do laundry, or explore a local night market.

Transfer by Coach from KL to Singapore (approx. 5 hrs) Marina Bay Sands & Merlion Park - Walking tour of Singapore’s architectural landmarks and waterfront planning. Discussion on city branding, national image-making, and real estate transformation.

National Gallery Singapore - Explore Southeast Asia’s largest public art institution. Focus on how nations curate cultural identity through visual storytelling.

Gardens by the Bay - Explore the Supertree Grove and Cloud Forest. Discuss how design, engineering, and sustainability intersect in this world-famous environmental showcase.

Indian Heritage Centre & Sultan Mosque (Kampong Glam) - Trace Singapore’s multiethnic

MacRitchie Reservoir ECO Walk - Walk Nature immersion in Singapore’s oldest water

Flight to Kota Kinabalu (approx. 2.5 hrs) Transfer to Malaysian Borneo for a new
