day 1 / DEPARTURE

Depart Home for Reykjavik, Iceland

day 2 / REYKJAVIK

Arrive in Reykjavik, Iceland

Airport Transfer - Be picked up by your guide and start the explorations by private bus

Viking World Museum - Here the group will have breakfast and enjoy the exhibits, and will learn about Iceland‘s viking history.

Suðurnes Science Centre - Learn all about their work. You will be led to a nearby beach where organisms are collected and then examined more closely in the Science Center, and will take a tour of the research facility with a local biologist.

Blue Lagoon - Time to relax and soak in the milky waters of this beautiful lagoon!

Go to Hotel and Check In - Your guide will take you to your accommodation in Keflavík where you will check in .

Welcome Dinner - The group will be taken for an authentic dinner with a variety of menu options to cater all diets.

day 3 / REYKJANES GEOPARK

Breakfast & Day Briefing 

In-Depth Exploration of the Volcanic Reykjanes

Peninsula - Starting with the bridge between continents, where you can cross the rift separating the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. 

Stampar Craters - These are parts of a 800 year old crater series and Reykjavik lighthouse where you can experience the waves hammering at the surrounding cliffs. 

Gunnuhver Hot Springs and Brimketill Lava Rock Pool - Natural pool carved out of an eroded lava shoreline, with a viewing platform to see giant waves.

Meradalir - See the newest lava fields created by two volcanic eruptions in 2021 and 2022.  Stop at the multi-coloured Krýsuvík geothermal area.

day 4 / GOLDEN CIRCLE

Transfer to Thingvellir National Park - Situated between two continental plates, Thingvellir National Park is one of Iceland's most historically significant, sacred and naturally beautiful sites.

Geysir Hot Spring and Mud Pits and Gullfoss  - Waterfalls

Kerid Crater - With distinctive red volcanic rock slopes, measuring 170 meters wide, 270 meters in circumference and 55 meters deep, Kerid crater lake is a 3,000 year old volcanic crater lake in South Iceland, the perfect golden circle Detour. The actual lake itself is relatively shallow, between 7 and 14 metres, depending on rainfall and other factors, but as a result of minerals from the surrounding soil, the water is a unique and strikingly vivid aquamarine shade of blue.

Fridheimar Greenhouses Gain - A unique insight into the processes of greenhouse horticulture and the use of geothermal heating in Icelandic horticulture with a visit to Friðheimar.

day 5 / SOUTH COAST

Lava Centre - Traverse the corridors, visit the exhibition halls and use the interactive displays at the Lava Centre to discover the colossal and complex natural forces that shape the Earth and began to create Iceland tens of millions of years ago.

day 6 / SKAFTAFELL N.P. & THE GLACIER LAGOON

Transfer to Skaftafell National Park -  Short Hike to Svartifoss Waterfall (if weather permits) - Svartifoss (Black Fall) is a waterfall in Skaftafell National Park in Iceland, and is one of the most popular sights in the park. It is surrounded by dark lava columns, which gave rise to its name. Fjallsárlón and Jökulsárlón glacier lakes stream down from the massive Vatnajökull ice cap, the second largest mass of ice in Europe. Vatnajökull National Park, which covers no less than 14% of Iceland, was recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage List and it's the largest of its kind in Europe.
