day 1 / DEPARTURE

Depart Home for Lima, Peru 

Arrive in Lima, Peru

On-ground Briefing
Orientation Walking Tour - The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, the public transportation systems, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc. Additionally, an in-depth safety briefing will be provided for what to do incase of an emergency. 

Welcome Dinner - The group will be taken for an authentic dinner with a wide variety of menu options to cater all diets.

Breakfast & Day Briefing 

Lima City Tour - explained from the perspective of Ricardo Palma and government palace inside (government palace visit to be confirmed) 

Lunch Break 

Larco Museum - This museum showcases chronological galleries that provide a thorough overview of 5,000 years of Peruvian pre-Columbian history.

day 3 / LIMA

Breakfast & Day Briefing 

Literary Walking Tour of Barranco - This is Peru’s most famous district where 19th-century writers lived in: Jose Maria Eguren, Abraham Valdelomar Martin Adan

Cemetery Presbitero Maestro Tour - Plenty of history and interesting stories about the Peruvian heroes from the Pacific war who are buried here, as well as many other Peruvian personalities from literature, music, etc.

Literary Walking Tour of Miraflores - This walk is centered on the life of Mario Vargas Llosa – Literature Nobel Prize, and the 20th Literary movement of Peru.

Afternoon Visit to Garcilaso de la Vega House -  Known as El Inca, this chronicler and writer was born in the Viceroyalty of Peru. Sailing to Spain at 21, he was educated informally there, where he lived and worked the rest of his life. He is the author of Los Comentarios Reales  and he was the first published mestizo writer of colonial Andean South America.

Morning Visit to the Casa Concha Museum - Tucked in a colonial building dating back to the 18th century, here you will find the world’s most comprehensive collection of Inca artifacts gathered from the ancient citadel, Machu Picchu. Nearly 400 archaeological pieces are on display in the Casa Concha Museum, including the findings of Hiram Bingham, the American explorer who made public the existence of the Incan citadel. This is a must visit site to better understand the lifestyle, craftsmanship and hardships of the Incas.

Inca Museum - Museo Inka is situated in an old palace full of pre-Hispanic ceramics, jewelry, metal- and gold-work, textiles and even Inca mummies and skulls. Portraits of Incas painted in the 17th century artistic tradition known as Cusco School (Escuela Cusqueña) make this museum particularly significant.
