Program Itinerary

day 1 / DEPARTURE

Flight to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

Airport Transfer

Check in, Refresh and Relax
Orientation Walking Tour - The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, the public transportation systems, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc. Additionally, an in-depth safety briefing will be provided for what to do incase of an emergency. 

Colonial Zone Tour - Take a guided walking tour or wander on your own with some recommendations from our on ground team: a great introduction to Dominican culture and hot island weather!

Welcome Dinner - Bienvenidos! The group will be taken for an authentic dinner with a wide variety of menu options to cater all diets. 

day 2 / BAYAHIBE

Breakfast & Day Briefing

Transfer to Bayahibe (approx 2 hrs)

FUNDAMAR - This organization is dedicated to promoting the sustainable use of coastal marine ecosystems and resources through conservation projects.

Free afternoon - spend the afternoon enjoying the laid-back beach town vibes.

day 3 / BAYAHIBE

Breakfast & Day Briefing 

Service Learning Project Part 1 - Spend the entire day volunteering with the scientins at Fundemar. This could be helping out on beach clean up, working at their wet lab or conservation activities.

Lunch Included

Service Learning Project Part 2 - The afternoon continues with other educational projects, including going out on a boat to try to spot and count dolphins or manatees.

day 4 / SAONA ISLAND

Breakfast & Day Briefing

Boat Transfer to Saona Island

Sea Turtle Conservation - Meet some community members and learn about their projects to protect the vulnerable sea turtle populations.

Lunch Included

Free Afternoon

Salt Lagoon - A short hike will give you a unique chance to enjoy a beautiful sunset over the lagoon.

Dinner with Ocean View

Turtle Walk- Embark on late night fascinating turtle walk to discover the most important nesting area for marine turtle in the entire Dominican Republic.

Note: The turtle walk is dependent on turtle season, which generally runs from March -November.

day 5 / SAONA ISLAND - BAYAHIBE

Hoyo Claro - This stunning natural swimming hole is located in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by lush vegetation. The water is crystal clear and cool, making it a refreshing spot to take a dip. Relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
