Program Itinerary

day 1 / DEPARTURE

Arrive in Guanacaste, Liberia, Costa Rica

Check-in at the Hotel & Refresh

Orientation- The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc. Additionally, an in-depth safety briefing will be provided for what to do in case of an emergency.

Morning hike at Carrillo Beach

Presentation from City Major: Developing and challenges at the blue zone - There are 5 regions in the world that excel due to different factors; these regions are known as blue zones. We will visit and learn from one of them, located in a unique, authentic sustainable destination in the world, Costa Rica. This adds great value for future professionals in environmental sciences, and in the knowledge of conservation - protection of ecosystems and species as well as preventing the negative impact of global warming that affects us all. Students and professors will receive official  letters from NGOs stating 20hrs of volunteering work in conservation, protection of multiple species, and ecosystems in the blue zones of Costa Rica.

Breakfast & Day Briefing 

Meeting with CREMA Association & Transfer to Corozalito- Build 2 different nurseries (tents) to protect turtle eggs from natural predators.

Progress and Sustainability at Punta Islita Hotel

Transfer back to hotel

day 4 / PUNTA ISLITA

Breakfast & Day Briefing

Continue building nurseries to protect turtle eggs from natural predators.

Tour Macaw Recovery Network at Punta Islita - Build 2 different special nests/houses, following specifications from station bird manager for the macaws.
