Itinerary

Day 1 – Departure

  • Depart Home for Hanoi, Vietnam

Day 2 – Hanoi

  • Arrive in Hanoi, Vietnam
  • Airport Transfer – Check-in, Relax & Refresh
  • Orientation Walking Tour – The group will become
  • Water Puppet Show – Discover Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre in Hanoi, Vietnam: Home of the unusual art of water puppetry, one of Vietnam’s oldest curiosities.
  • Welcome Dinner – The group will be taken for an authentic dinner with a variety of menu options to cater all diets.

Day 3 – Hanoi/Halong

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Hanoi Historical & Cultural Walking Tour – Ho Chi Minh mausoleum complex, Temple of Literature, military museum, Hoan Kiem Lake, Old Street Quarter and more…
  • Lunch Break
  • B52 Museum – The museum especially illustrates the victory of Hanoi people and armed forces over the US strategic B-52 air raid in late December 1972. Vietnam’s soldiers, pilots and militiamen shot down 81 of the raiding aircraft, including 34 of the giant B52s.

Day 4 – Halong/Dong Ha

  • Breakfast – Day Briefing
  • Transfer to Halong Bay (approx. 3 hours)
  • Halong Bay Cruise – Halong Bay was the setting for successful Vietnamese naval battles against 3 coastal invasions of Mongol enemies in the Feudal period. During the Vietnam War, many of the channels between the islands were heavily mined by the United States navy, some of which pose a threat to shipping to this day.
  • Overnight in Halong Bay

Day 5 – Dong Ha/Hue

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Structured Free Time
  • Train Transfer to Hanoi (approx. 30 mins)
  • Sleeper Train to Dong Hoi

Day 6 – Phong Nha

  • Arrival in Dong Hoi
  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Phong Nha National Park – World Heritage Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, with its karst mountains, underground rivers, historic sites, extensive caves and unspoilt jungle, is packed with opportunities to hike, bike, paddle or relax in one of Vietnam’s most spectacular and interesting regions.
  • Lunch Break
  • Kingdom of Caves – Ke Bang National Park in the central province of Quang Binh is frequently dubbed as the “Kingdom of Caves” for the magnificent specimens it boasts.

Day 7 – Hue

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • DMZ, Airfield and Battlefield Tour in Quang Tri –
    Vietnam’s Demilitarized Zone, or DMZ, is the area around the former border between North and South Vietnam. Historically it was a narrow band of terrain extending from the Laos border to the coast, five kilometres on either side of the Ben Hai River, roughly on the 17th parallel north of latitude. The area saw heavy fighting in the war.
  • Transfer to Hue (approx. 1.5 hours)
  • Overnight in Hue

Day 8 – Hue

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Historical & Cultural Walking Tour of Hue – Imperial city, Kings’ tomb, cruise trip Huong River, local village, local market and more…

Day 9 – Hoi An

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Transfer to Hoi An (approx. 2.5 hours)
  • Cham Museum – The Museum’s first building was opened in 1919, but many Cham sculptures collected in Da Nang, Quang Nam and elsewhere were brought to the site over the preceding twenty years.
  • Lunch Break
  • Stone Handicraft Village – Non Nuoc stone carving village located at the foot of Marble Mountains is a famous traditional village of Danang city for fine art stone engraving products.

Day 10 – Hoi An

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Hoi An City Tour – Japanese covered bridge, Ancient house, local market, pagoda, music show

Day 11 – Ho Chi Minh City

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Airport Transfer – Flight to HCMC
  • Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City
  • Check-in & Refresh
  • Ho Chi Minh Historical & Cultural Tour – Presidential Palace, War remnant museum, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Post Office, Ben Thanh market, Vinh Nghiem Pagoda and more…

Day 12 – Ho Chi Minh City

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Cu Chi Tunnels – In order to combat better-supplied American and South Vietnamese forces during the Vietnam War, Communist guerrilla troops known as Viet Cong (VC) dug tens of thousands of miles of tunnels, including an extensive network running underneath the Cu Chi district northwest of Saigon.
  • Lunch Break
  • Cao Dai Temple – This fabulously colourful three-storey structure celebrates Vietnam’s home-grown religion of Caodaism.

Day 13 – Mekong

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Transfer to Mekong – The delta region west of Saigon includes the canals and rivers of Bassac and Mekong. This is the most fertile region of the country which also made it strategically important for both sides. Scattered across the region was also many smaller firebases, Special Forces bases and other installations. River operations meant a lot of patrolling to search out enemy transports and hidden caches of food and weapons, but also deploying Navy Seals and other forces going out on missions.
  • Visit Local Village & Fruit Orchard
  • Homestay in Mekong Region – Stay with local people

Day 14 – Mekong/Ho Chi Minh City

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Floating Village – Cai Rang is the biggest floating market in Mekong Delta where people can buy fruit & vegetables from locals.
  • Lunch Break
  • Visit Local Industry – Candy making, rice noodle and rice corn
  • Transfer to HCMC (approx. 3 hours)
  • Farewell Dinner & Program Closing

Day 15 – Return

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Airport Transfer
  • Depart Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for Home
