Arrive in Rome, Italy at 8:15 pm

DAY 3 – ROME – Monday, May 15

Breakfast & Day Briefing 

Orientation Walking Tour – The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, the public transportation systems, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc. Additionally, an in-depth safety briefing will be provided for what to do incase of an emergency. 

Historical & Cultural Walking Tour of Rome – Bernini’s Ecstasy, 4 Fountains Crossroad, Quirinale, Trevi Fountain & Spanish Steps., Pantheon & Piazza Navona, Vittoriano, Campidoglio, Jewish Quarter

Lunch Break

Guided Tour of Colosseum & Roman Forum – The Colosseum (Colosseo) remains the largest amphitheater ever built and is one of the most recognizable and iconic symbols of Rome. The 5-story, elliptical structure measures 617-feet long, 512-feet wide, and 187-feet high and is made of travertine and brick.

Welcome Dinner – The group will be taken for an authentic Italian dinner with a wide variety of menu options to cater all diets. 

DAY 4 – ROME – Tuesday, May 16

Breakfast & Day Briefing 

Vatican Museum & St. Peter’s Basilica – The museum displays works from the immense collection amassed by popes throughout the centuries including several of the most renowned Roman sculptures and most important masterpieces of Renaissance art in the world. The museums contain roughly 70,000 works, of which 20,000 are on display.

Gelateria Fassi Tour & Tasting – An exclusive visit to the Laboratory of this traditional homemade gelateria, followed by a tasting of their best creations.

Athens Historical & Cultural Walking Tour – Syntagma Square, Change of the Guards, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Hadrian’s Arch, Plaka, Monastiraki Square, and more…

National Gardens & Temple of Zeus – The temple was one of the largest in the ancient world. At 17 metres high, it originally had 104 columns but only 16 have survived with one fallen after a storm in 1852.

DAY 9 – ATHENS – Sun, May 21

Acropolis Hills and Museum, Dionysus Theatre – The Acropolis Museum is consistently rated as one of the best museums in the world. Devoted to the Parthenon and its surrounding temples, it is cleverly perched above Athens like a luminous box.

 

DAY 10 – SOUNIO/ATHENS – Monday, May 22

Breakfast & Day Briefing 

Transfer to Sounion along the Scenic Coastline (approx. 2 hours) 

Temple of Poseidon – Majestic Cape Sounion, a strategic point rising above the Aegean sea about 70 kilometers away from Athens in the southern region of Attica, was known by Ancient Greeks as the “Sacred Cape.”

DAY 11 – ATHENS – Tues, May 23

National Archaeological Museum – The National Archaeological Museum of Athens is the largest archaeological museum in Greece and one of the most important museums in the world devoted to ancient Greek art.

Lycabettus Hill – Standing 277 meters above sea level, Lycabettus Hill is the highest point of Athens.

DAY 12 – DELPHI/ATHENS – Wednesday, May 24

Day Trip to Delphi (approx. 2.5 hours)

Delphi Archeological Site & Museum – The pan-Hellenic sanctuary of Delphi, where the oracle of Apollo spoke, was the site of the omphalos, the ‘navel of the world’. Blending harmoniously with the superb landscape and charged with sacred meaning, Delphi in the 6th century B.C. was indeed the religious centre and symbol of unity of the ancient Greek world.
