Itinerary
Day 1 – Departure
Depart Home for Glasgow, Scotland
Day 2 – Glasgow
- Arrive in Glasgow, Scotland
- Airport Transfer
- Orientation Walking Tour – The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, the public transportation systems, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc.
- Welcome Dinner – The group will be taken for an authentic dinner with a variety of menu options to cater all diets.
Day 3 – Glasgow
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Historical & Cultural Walking Tour of Glasgow – Learn the fascinating story of Glasgow taking in the city’s famed Victorian architecture, and taking in its vibrant atmosphere. Royal Exchange Square, Buchanan Street, George Square (The iconic central city square was turned into a 1940s film set for Frank’s memorable proposal to Claire in season one) and Glasgow City Chambers, Trades Hall, the Merchant City, Glasgow Cross, High Street and the Cathedral Precinct (Glasgow Cathedral’s medieval crypt doubles as L’Hopital Des Anges, where Claire volunteers, in season two), Kelvingrove Park (The US city of Boston was transported to Glasgow in season three when Kelvingrove Park was used to replicate the Boston Park where Claire is regularly seen going for walks).

- Pollok Country Park – The south-side’s most loved green space made an appearance in both season one and two of the series, doubling as the setting for the fictional Castle Leoch in its first appearance, and acting as the French countryside between Paris and Le Havre in its second outing.

Day 4 – Glasgow
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- University of Glasgow – The University, the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world, doubles as the famous US institution Harvard, where Frank teaches as a professor. Filming took place here during the summer, and winter of 2016 for season three.
- Lunch Break
- The Mackintosh House – The Hunterian Art Gallery houses one of the most important collections of the work of Scottish architect, designer and artist, Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) and his artist-wife, Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh (1864-1933). The Mackintosh House is a meticulous reassemblage of the principal interiors from the Mackintoshes’ Glasgow home.
Day 5 – Edinburgh
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Travel to Edinburgh (approx. 1 hour)
- Drop Bags
- Historical & Cultural Walking Tour of Edinburgh – Edinburgh, 1745. The Jacobite rising has reached the city gates, and Bonnie Prince Charlie is met by a cheering crowd, 20,000 strong. Amid the chaos of rebellion, we find Claire and Jamie, two characters entwined in a story that spans centuries.
- Lunch Break
- Edinburgh Castle – Edinburgh Castle, stronghold that was once the residence of Scottish monarchs and now serves mostly as a museum. It stands 443 feet (135 metres) above sea level and overlooks the city of Edinburgh from a volcanic crag called Castle Rock.

Day 6 – Edinburgh
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Glencorse House & Old Kirk TBC – It was at this 17th century church in Milton Bridge, south of Edinburgh that Jamie married Claire, saving her from the hands of Black Jack Randall. It was here that their adventures truly began.
- Rosslyn Chapel – Next, continue west to the 18th-century city of Bath. All honey-stoned townhouses, terraces and bridges, this UNESCO-listed city is one of England’s crowning glories.
Day 7 – Falkland
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Hopetoun House – Multiple locations within Hopetoun House and the grounds have been used throughout Season 1, 2, 3 and 4. Further afield on our Estate lies Midhope Castle which is the external location of the Fraser family home known as ‘Lallybroch’.
- Midhope Castle – Located on the wider Hopetoun Estate is Midhope Castle which is the location for fictional Lallybroch, the family home of character Jamie Fraser. Midhope Castle dates back to the 15th Century and although the exterior is relatively intact the castle is derelict inside.
- Lunch Break
- Blackness Castle – Blackness Castle stood in for Fort William in series one of TV show Outlander.
- Transfer to Falkland (approx. 1 hour)
Day 8 – Inverness
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Falkland Palace & Harbour – Used for one of the most memorable Outlander scenes to date, Callendar House appeared in episode 2.11, “Vengeance is Mine”. It was used as the kitchen at the Duke of Sandringham’s home, Belhurst Manor.
- Transfer to Cairngorms National Park
- Highland Folk Museum – Claire and Jamie visited here accompanied by Dougal and co. when they were sent by Colum to collect taxes for Clan Mackenzie.
- Overnight in Inverness
Day 9 – Inverness
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Culloden Battlefield – The Battle of Culloden was the final conflict during the Jacobite Rising of 1745, in which the government forces defeated the Jacobite army and suppressed once and for all Charles Stuart’s ambition of reclaiming the thrones of England and Scotland for his father, James Stuart.
- Clava Cairns – One of the most significant places in the series is the Standing Stones, the mystical spot where Claire was first brought back in time. It was filmed at Clava Cairns, a burial site built in the Bronze Age
- Loch Ness & Urquhart Castle
- Overnight in Inverness
Day 10 – Glasgow
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Transfer to Glencoe (approx. 2 hours)
- Loch Lomond – Loch Katrine
- Transfer to Glasgow (approx. 1.5 hours)
- Farewell Dinner & Program Closing – The group will be taken for an authentic dinner with a variety of menu options to cater all diets.
Day 11 – Departure
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Airport Transfer
- Depart Glasgow, Scotland for Home
