Itinerary

Day 1 – Departure

  • Depart Home for Madrid, Spain

Day 2 – Salamanca

  • Arrive in Madrid, Spain
  • Transfer to Salamanca (approx. 2.5 hours)
  • Check In, Relax & Refresh 
  • Orientation Walking Tour – The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, the public transportation systems, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc.  
  • Welcome Dinner – The group will be taken for an authentic Spanish dinner with a variety of menu options to cater all diets.

Day 3 – Salamanca

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Registration & Placement Exam at University of Salamanca (USAL)
  • 9 – 11 AM – Spanish Immersion Classes at USAL
  • Lunch Break
  • Historical & Cultural Walking Tour of Salamanca – Plaza Mayor, Monterey Palace, Las Conchas House, La Clerecía, Convent of San Esteban, Libreros Street, Plaza de Anaya, Old and new Cathedral, Episcopal Palace, The Roman Bridge and more…

Day 4 –  Salamanca

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • 9 – 11 AM – Spanish Immersion Classes at USAL
  • Salsa Dance Class
  • Visit Old USAL Building

Day 5 – Salamanca

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • 9 – 11 AM – Spanish Immersion Classes at USAL
  • Lunch Break
  • Museum of Salamanca – The museum is located near the central courtyard of the Doctores de la Reina Palace, dating from the XV Century. Its rooms are decked with paintings from the 15th century up to the present time, featuring Llanto por Cristo Muerto, by Luis de Morales, as well as San Andrés by Juan de Flandes.

Day 6 –  Salamanca

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • 9 – 11 AM – Spanish Immersion Classes at USAL
  • Towers of the Clerecia – The towers are a great place to view Salamanca from. You get a panoramic view of the city from the towers.
  • Visit to the Art Deco Museum Casa Lis & Hot Chocolate – This museum was constructed to pay tribute to the decorative arts. Located in Casa Lis, Museum of Art Nouveau and Art Deco is considered as the city’s first building with modern structure. It houses collection of 19 decorative art pieces belonging to late 19th and early 20th century.

Day 7 – Salamanca/Madrid

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • 9 – 11 AM – Spanish Immersion Classes at USAL
  • Lunch Break
  • Transfer to Madrid (approx. 2.5 hours)
  • Check-in, Relax & Refresh
  • 1.5 Hour Walking Tour of Madrid Old Town – Puerta del Sol Square, Plaza Mayor, Almudena Cathedral, Plaza de la Villa Square, Plaza de Oriente, Royal Theatre and more…

Day 8 – Madrid

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Royal Palace – Home to the Kings of Spain from Charles III to Alfonso XIII, Madrid’s Royal Palace takes us on a journey through the history of Spain.
  • Lunch Break at Mercado San Miguel
  • Structured Free Time in Madrid
  • Farewell Dinner & Program Closing – The group will be taken for an authentic Spanish dinner with a variety of menu options to cater all diets.

Day 9 – Return

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
