Itinerary
Day 1 – Departure
- Depart Home for Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Day 2 – Amsterdam
- Arrive in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
- Airport Transfer – Drop Bags & Refresh
- Orientation Walking Tour – The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, the public transportation systems, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc…
- Welcome Dinner – The group will be taken for an authentic dinner with a variety of menu options to cater all diets.
Day 3 – Amsterdam
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Historical & Cultural Walking Tour of Amsterdam – Amsterdam is a city practically built on top of water, with a total of 165 canals! Amsterdam is considered one of the best bike cities in the world. There are more bikes than people, almost 100,000 more.
- Lunch Break
- Anne Frank House – Anne Frank is one of Amsterdam’s most well known former residents. The writer’s house at Prinsengracht 263 in Amsterdam is where she lived in hiding with her family for more than two years during World War II. Now converted into a museum it contains a sobering exhibition about the persecution of the Jews during the war, as well as discrimination in general.
Day 4 – Amsterdam

- Visit to the University of Amsterdam – International Political Economy session
- Lunch Break on campus
- Bloemenmarkt Flower Market – Founded in 1862, Bloemenmarkt is a beautiful flower market floating on the Singel canal in central Amsterdam
Day 6 – Amsterdam
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Van Gogh Museum – The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam houses the largest collection of artworks by Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) in the world.
- Lunch Break
- Tour of Red Light District and Dam Square – Prostitution in the area can be traced to the 14th century when sailors arriving back in Amsterdam were in need of female company. Over the years the industry blossomed and today the area is renowned as one of Amsterdam’s major tourist attractions.
Day 7 – Hague
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Train Transfer to The Hague (approx. 1 hour)
- ”Democracy and the Rule of Law Tour” – Guided Tour of the International Court of Justice, Ridderzaal, the Dutch Senate and the House of Representatives.
- Lunch Break
- International Criminal Court – Guided visits to the ICC premise last around two hours and are led by staff members.
- The programme includes a visit though the Visitors Center followed by a presentation on the mandate and current activities of the Court.
Day 8 – Rotterdam/Hague
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Day Trip to Rotterdam
- Historical & Cultural Walking Tour of Rotterdam – Founded as a small fisherman’s village 800 years ago, Rotterdam soon exploited its ideal location alongside the big European rivers. The city grew into a powerful industrial and trading force, until the city center was destroyed by German bombs during World War II.
- Lunch Break – Structured Free Time in Rotterdam
- Return to The Hague
Day 9 – Brussels
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- Tour of the European Parliament – European Commission, the Council of Ministers, Royal Residence, the Royal Palace and the Houses of Parliament and Parlamentarium.
Day 10 – Brussels
- Breakfast & Day Briefing
- One Day Cruise – Aegina, Poros and Hydra – Your Greek island cruise from Athens begins with the colors of the sea, fresh salt air and the gentle breeze of the Saronic Gulf to heighten your senses. A day cruise to three islands. Lunch included
