Itinerary

Day 1 – Departure – Saturday, May 14

  • Depart Home for Rome, Italy

Day 2 – Rome – Sunday, May 15

  • Arrive in Rome, Italy
  • Meet the Group at the Hotel
  • Program Orientation – The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, the public transportation systems, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc. Additionally, an in-depth safety briefing will be provided for what to do incase of an emergency. 
  • Guided Tour of Colosseum, Palatine & Roman Forum – The Colosseum (Colosseo) remains the largest amphitheater ever built and is one of the most recognizable and iconic symbols of Rome. The 5-story, elliptical structure measures 617-feet long, 512-feet wide, and 187-feet high and is made of travertine and brick.
  • Welcome Dinner at a Traditional Pizzeria – The group will be taken for an authentic pizza dinner at one of Rome’s authentic pizzerias..

Day 3 – Rome – Monday, May 16

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Baths of Caracalla – Baths of Caracalla, public baths in ancient Rome begun by the emperor Septimius Severus in ad 206 and completed by his son the emperor Caracalla in 216.
  • Ancient Aurelian Walls – The Aurelian Walls (Italian: Mura aureliane) are a line of city walls built between 271 AD and 275 AD in Rome, Italy, during the reign of the Roman Emperors Aurelian and Probus. They superseded the earlier Servian Wall built during the 4th century BC.
  • Ancient Appian Way – Circus of Maxentius, Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella

Day 4 – Rome – Tuesday, May 17

  • Transfer to Ostia Antica (approx. 1 hour)
  • Ostia Antica – Theater, Square of the Corporations, Capitalism, Baths of the Seven Sages and more…
  • Return to Rome

Day 5 – Florence – Wednesday, May 18

  • Bullet Train to Florence (approx. 1.5 hours)
  • Check-in, Relax & Refresh
  • Galleria dell’Accademia – The Accademia Gallery’s collection includes priceless masterpieces and works of art in its various halls spread over two floors.

Day 6 – Florence – Thursday, May 19

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Uffizi Gallery – The Gallery entirely occupies the first and second floors of the large building constructed between 1560 and 1580 and designed by Giorgio Vasari. It is famous worldwide for its outstanding collections of ancient sculptures and paintings (from the Middle Ages to the Modern period).
  • Lunch Break
  • Santa Croce – Santa Croce, rebuilt for the Franciscan order in 1294 by Arnolfo di Cambio, is the burial place for the great and good in Florence.
  • Piazzale Michelangelo Lookout Point

Day 7 – Pisa/Florence – Friday, May 20

  • Day Trip to Pisa (approx. 1 hour)
  • Piazza dei Miracoli, Cathedral & Leaning Tower of Pisa
  • Return to Florence

Day 8 – Siena/Florence – Saturday, May 21
