Itinerary

Day 1 – Departure

  • Depart Home for Athens, Greece

Day 2 – Athens

  • Arrive in Athens, Greece
  • Airport Transfer – Check-in & Refresh
    Orientation Walking Tour
  • Sunset Areopagus Rock – Writing time
  • Welcome Dinner & Greek Traditional Dancing – The group will be taken for an authentic dinner with a variety of menu options to cater all diets.

Day 3 – Athens

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Acropolis Hills and Museum, Dionysus Theatre – The Acropolis Museum is consistently rated as one of the best museums in the world. Devoted to the Parthenon and its surrounding temples, it is cleverly perched above Athens.
  • Lunch Break
  • Athens Walking Tour – Syntagma square, National Garden, Acropolis Hills & Museum
  • Writing Time & Structured Free Time in Plaka Area

Day 4 – Paros

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Ferry to Paros (approx. 8 hours)
  • Check-in & Refresh

  • Beach Time – Marchello Beach

Day 5 – Paros

  • Explore Old Town of Naoussa – Naoussa is built amphitheatrical around the small port which is always dotted with brightly-painted fishing caiques and where the ruins of a Venetian castle still stand silent sentinel. The fortress and the design of the town are due to Naoussa’s historical importance as the island’s fortress against foreign invaders.

Day 6 – Tinos

  • Ferry to Tinos (approx. 2 hours)
  • Check-in & Refresh – Lunch Break
  • Visit Dio Choria Village – The village is a fine example of the old fortified style of many mountain villages; it has three fresh springs. This village is only for foot traffic or donkeys, is blissfully quiet, and has many side lanes and steps leading to the upper section; the entire village has outstanding traditional architecture and overlooks the lush green valley sweeping down to the sea.

Day 7 – Tinos

  • Day Trip to Delos – The mythological birthplace of Apollo, it was a major religious center and port during the 1st millennium B.C. The island’s ruins encompass Doric temples, markets, an amphitheater, houses with mosaics and the iconic Terrace of the Lions statues.

Day 8 – Naxos

  • Ferry to Naxos (approx. 2 hours)

  • Free Time at the Beach
  • Naxos Castle & Old Town Walking Tour – Explore the old Castle of the Chora of Naxos and listen to stories of pirates, knights and Venetians rulers. Visit the Old market, nowadays the heart of Naxos nightlife. Visit the medieval Roman Cathedral of Naxos, the seat of the Catholic Church of Naxos and admire its architecture and precious artefacts.

  • Temple of Apollo – Also known as “Portara”, a huge marble gate and the single remaining part of an unfinished temple of Apollo of 530 BC, is the island’s emblem and main landmark. The islet of Palatia has been associated with the worship of Ariadne — a Cretan princess — and Dionysus, the god of wine and merriment. According to mythology, the islet is considered the place where Dionysian festivities were first held.

Day 9 – Naxos

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Sailboat Cruise – Duration of this tour is about 8 hours. A light meal is included and snorkeling equipment is offered.
  • This sailboat cruise will give you the opportunity to get to know some of the most remote beaches of Naxos Island. (Lunch included)
  • Writing Time
  • Naxos Traditional Culinary Experience – Starting  from Naxos town, we set off to the traditional village of Galini. Once in the kitchen we will cook using only naxian products and traditional cooking methods and special recipes such as “gemista” (stuffed tomatoes and peppers)! At the end we all enjoy our homemade meal!

Day 10 – Athens
