Destinations

Guanacaste, Arenal, Monteverde, San Jose, & Cahuita

This extensive 14 day program takes an intimate look at nature conservation, as well as sustainable practices in energy production, farming, and more.

Students will learn about unique methods to solve the challenging natural and ecological problems humanity faces today by touring plants, companies, farms, and more that are leading the way in innovation in these sectors. At night, they will be able to engage in group discussions to better understand what was learned and how the knowledge can be used back home.

In addition to the educational portion of the program, travelers will have the opportunity to explore Costa Rica’s amazing tropical destinations. Included in the program are visits to waterfalls, beaches, and hot springs, along with surfing lessons, white water rafting, and more.

There will be many opportunities to see local flora and fauna in their natural habitats on naturalist tours in multiple reserves, rainforests, and national parks.

Special activities include a Bribri Educational Day with the Bribri indigenous tribe to learn their unique customs and how to make chocolate, and a service learning project planting trees at a local elementary school.
