DAY 1 – DEPARTURE – Friday, August 4
Depart Home for Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

Orientation Walking Tour – The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, the public transportation systems, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc. Additionally, an in-depth safety briefing will be provided for what to do incase of an emergency.

DAY 2 – SANTO DOMINGO – Saturday, August 5

Introduction to the Dominican Community Health, the Community History and the daily activities
Walking Tour of Santo Domingo Colonial area and Downtown Market
Visit UADS Public University, built in the 16th century.
Lunch by the Beach in Boca Chica
Informal meeting with local Tour Operators in the Boca Chica area to discuss the African diaspora in the Tourism industry
Overnight at Hotel Europa
Meeting with Fundacion Guanin representatives in the Zona Colonial
