DAY 1 – DEPARTURE – Saturday, May 27 

Depart Home for Rome, Italy

DAY 2 – ROME – Sunday, May 28

Arrive in Rome, Italy

Airport Transfer – Check-in, Relax & Refresh
Orientation Walking Tour – The group will become oriented with their neighborhood, the public transportation systems, nearby pharmacies, markets, ATMs, etc. Additionally, an in-depth safety briefing will be provided for what to do incase of an emergency.

Historical & Cultural Walking Tour – Bernini’s Ecstasy, 4 Fountains Crossroad, Quirinale, Trevi Fountain & Spanish Steps.

Welcome Dinner at Traditional Pizzeria – The group will be taken for an authentic Italian pizza dinner with a wide variety options to cater all diets. 

DAY 3 – ROME – Monday, May 29

Gelateria Fassi Tour & Tasting – After lunch go  visit the Laboratory of this traditional homemade gelateria from 1880, followed by a tasting of their best creations.

Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Roman Forum – After visiting the most iconic monument of Italy, the Colosseum, the group will explore the Palatine Hill and Roman Forum: the largest archeological area of Rome, the ancient city center. It hosts temples, triumph arches and basilicas from the Roman Kingdom (8th century BC) to the Byzantine Empire (6th century AD).

DAY 4 – ROME/FLORENCE – Tuesday, May 30

Breakfast & Day Briefing 

American Academy Tour & Lunch – Learn about the Rome Sustainable Food Program in the spectacular location of the Academy, visit the Palace, the garden, meet the cooks and stay for their exclusive lunch.

Transfer to La Pineta Farm, Tuscan Countryside

Botanical Tour – Explore the nature surrounding the farm, visit the botanical garden and the olive grove.

Cooking Class & Dinner – Collect local herbs in the garden and learn how to cook an authentic Tuscan meal

DAY  7 – FUCECCHIO/BOLOGNA – Friday, June 2

Vineyards and Winery Tour – Visit the organic farming vineyards of strictly indigenous vines & the awarded winery “Dalle Nostre Mani”. 

Transfer to Bologna (approx. 2.5 hours)

Bologna Walking Tour – Piazza Maggiore, Fountain of Neptune, the Two Towers, the University of Bologna (the oldest in the world)

DAY 8 – BOLOGNA/MODENA/ROME – Saturday, June 3

Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese Factory Tour – Learn about all the different steps in the production of this world famous cheese (from the milk to the aging process)… and taste it!
