Itinerary

DAY 01– Monday, May 24th: Belize City

  • Depart for Belize City, Belize 
  • Arrive Belize City 
  • Group Lunch 
  • Transfer to San Ignacio  (approx. 2  hours)
  • Check in, Relax & Refresh
  • Orientation Tour of San Ignacio
  • Welcome Dinner – The group will be taken for an authentic dinner with a variety of menu options to cater all diets.

DAY 02– Tuesday, May 25th: San Ignacio

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Xunantunich Ancient Maya Archaeological Site – The name of this ancient Mayan ruin is a tongue twister, but to indigenous peoples who made this sacred site their home for millennia, Xunantunich was a safe, secure hilltop area with plenty of vantage points, just in case a neighboring army of usurpers or explorers from abroad sought to claim this stronghold.

  • Medicinal Gardens & Iguana Farm
  • Meeting With Local Medical Authorities – Discussion of Clinics,  Protocol – mobile clinics, Health Care System in Belize and Social Medicine.

DAY 04– Thursday, May 27th: San Ignacio

  • Transfer to Belize City via Blue Hole National Park
  • Ferry to Caye Caulker (approx. 45 mins)

DAY 08– Monday, May 31st: Caye Caulker

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Snorkel Hol Chan Marine Reserve – The Hol Chan Marine Reserve was established as a marine protected area in 1987 under the Laws of Belize. It incorporates the southernmost marine and coastal areas of Ambergris Caye including the barrier reef, seagrass beds and the mangrove islands of Boca Chica and Cangrejo Shoals. A zoning scheme was developed in order to ensure sustainable use and guarantee its conservation. Hol Chan is divided into four zones which include no-take areas and zones that regulate and promote sustainable fishing practices.
  • Free Time & Cultural Immersion
  • Farewell Dinner & Program Closing – The group will be taken for an authentic dinner with a variety of menu options to cater all diets.

DAY 09– Tuesday, June 1st: Return

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Ferry Transfer to Belize City (First Ferry)
  • Airport Transfer
  • Depart Belize City for Home

Program payments

1st Payment: $790 deposit, due February 3rd, 2021

2nd Payment: $1,850, due March 24th, 2021

Notes: Airfare is not included in the program; Please wait for confirmation that trip has met the minimum number of participants before purchasing airfare.

Payment Policy: The 1st deposit is refundable up to 100 days prior to departure. If the trip is canceled for not reaching the minimum number of participants the deposit will also be refunded.
