Itinerary

Day 1 – Departure

  • Depart Home for Belize City, Belize
  • Arrive in Belize City, Belize
  • Transfer to La Milpa Field Station – Nestled in one our largest protected areas, serves as a biological corridor between Belize, Mexico and Guatemala. Habit is considered a rainforest which is one of the world’s richest ecosystems.
  • Orientation Walking Tour
  • Welcome Dinner & Group Discussions – The group will be taken for an authentic dinner with a variety of menu options to cater all diets.

Day 2 – La Milpa Field Station

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Trail exploring
  • Visit of one unexcavated Mayan City – Extraordinary chances of seeing wildlife
  • Lunch Break
  • Educational Talk- Learn about the importance of the Rainforest and the establishment of biological corridors.
  • Structured Free Time & Cultural Immersion

Day 3 – Belize Bird Rescue

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
    Depart from La Milpa Field Station to Belize Bird Rescue (BBR)
  • Stop at Altun Ha – Mayan Site that is depicted on the country’s beer 
  • Lunch at Captain Hook’s Shrimp Farm
  • Tour of Mangroves, Crocodiles and Shrimp farming
  • Return to Belize Bird Rescue
  • Dinner at BBR and Cultural Immersion

Day 4 – Belize Bird Rescue

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Activity: Rehab Bird Feeding
  • Day Trip to Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) cave – Belize’s karst landscape and the most sacred Mayan cave
  • Return to Belize Bird Rescue
  • Overnight at BBR

Day 5 – Belize Bird Rescue

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Day excursion to the Mountain Pine Ridge – The unique high elevation of Belize and one of the country’s largest watersheds.
  • Structured Free time & Cultural Immersion
  • Return to Belize Bird Rescue
  • Overnight at BBR

Day 6 – Caye Caulker

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
    Belize Zoo Tour and Lecture- The Belize Zoo is an institution that cares for over 150 native wildlife, and promotes Conservation, Education, Recreation, and Research. They are committed to the conservation of Belize’s wildlife and its habitats through the establishment of a well maintained zoological facility and education center, both poised to bring about a greater environmental awareness to the people living in Belize, and to visitors from abroad. The Belize Zoo believes that by bringing the people closer to the animals, which are their natural heritage, they will feel proud of these special resources, and wish to protect them for future generations. All Zoo “residents” were once pets; donated to the Zoo; rescues found injured, abandoned or orphaned and brought in rehabilitation; or born at the Zoo.

  • Transfer to Belize City – Water Taxi to Caye Caulker Island
  • Orientation Talk and Sunset on the island
  • Overnight in Caye Caulker

Day 7 – Caye Caulker

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Snorkeling at the Barrier Reef
  • Farewell Dinner and Program Closing

Day 8 – Return

  • Breakfast & Day Briefing
  • Water Taxi to Belize City
  • Airport Transfer
  • Depart Belize for Home
