We invite you to join SAA for our

Global Learning Festival

February 27 – March 3, 2023

Come celebrate international education with us! February 27th is International Study Abroad Day, and we’ve decided to celebrate all week long by combining it with our annual Global Learning Fest (GL Fest). Join us from February 27 through March 3, 2023 as we commemorate each day with fun, informative, and cultural programs.

Follow us as we virtually travel the world through live streaming events, learn about new trends in global education, and connect with colleagues and students around the world.

This year SAA is celebrating GL Fest with a planned event each day Monday through Thursday:

  • Live streaming sessions from around the world
  • Professional faculty-led program development workshop
  • Free access to our premium interactive 360 GLE™ (Global Learning Experiences) content

Allied Health in the Dominican Republic

Join us for unique local insight into Dominican Republic history and culture! Hear from the Fundación Centro Cultural Guanín, a 501c3 nonprofit foundation for youth, and the work they have done in their community. They will discuss past, present, and future projects developed to provide local relief through different healthcare, sustainability, educational, and recreational efforts. A Q&A session will be held at the end, so bring your questions!

Perspectives on Risk Mitigation for Faculty-Led Programs

Faculty-led study abroad programs have unique risk factors under normal circumstances. Add in a continuing global pandemic and new challenges arise. Hear different perspectives from the SAA team and LewerGlobal student insurance about lessons learned since resuming faculty-led programming. We will share case studies of how we each navigated the realities of the ever-changing travel landscape and have an open discussion about best practices for the future of faculty-led programs.

Women of Bloomsbury Walking Tour

March is Women’s History Month, and we’re making it international! In London, the district of Bloomsbury has historically been linked to culture, intellects, artists and writers. Today while exploring the picturesque neighborhood with its cozy public squares, you can stumble across numerous blue plaques and statues marking where notable women once lived, worked, and died. Virtually walk in the footsteps of writer Virginia Woolf, World War Two Spy Noor Inayat Khan, abolitionist Mary Prince, and Britain’s first female dentist Lilian Lindsay.

New 360 GLE™ Content Debut: Japan

This multidisciplinary content features locations such as Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe with virtual visits to Kansai University, the Arashiyama bamboo forest, and more!
