Language and Culture

There’s no better way to study a language than by traveling to the country of origin and conversing with and learning directly from local native speakers. Our language immersion programs do just that, and our programs cater to your students’ language skill level, from beginner to advanced. All programs are led by a professional full-time native guide who can assist students in their interactions and conversations, to make practicing with locals less intimidating. In addition, students in many of our language programs have the opportunity to stay for the duration of the trip with a local host family, where they will have daily home-cooked meals and opportunities to practice their skills in a more intimate setting. We give students the chance to improve their language proficiency while increasing their appreciation for the culture of the destination they are visiting. There are countless opportunities to build language skills in fun and unique ways while studying in the country where that language is predominant. Examples include watching a movie in the foreign language, experiencing music and cultural performances, perusing and shopping at local markets, and receiving lessons on a regional art or skill, such as flamenco dancing. Additionally, there are regular classroom lessons throughout the programs to ensure contact hours are being met, giving students the chance to take detailed notes on their new skills and attend lectures hosted by local educators.
